The Authentic Words of Allaah

There are plenty of observations that scientists have made and they reached the conclusion that the splendor, harmony, balance and unity that reign in the universe is definitely wonderful and breathtaking.

This information has been derived from the scientists and people believe them. So far, we do not have any clue how the scientists are in their respective lives; whether they are truthful or dishonest, they have manipulated the information or not, they are liars or not, they are sincere or not. And there are great possibilities that in the future the given information will be altered with profound and advanced research, but despite this people greatly trust them.

At present, let us have a glance on the references of the Holy Qur’an: It has been 1435 years since Qur’an has been revealed, but it is still intact with no changes having been brought to it. The whole world, Muslims and non-Muslims bear testimony of this great miracle. And each and every verse of the Qur’an speaks utterly the truth and no human was able to contradict it. Since 1435 years, Qur’an has revealed scientific, economic, politic, social and diplomatic theories. And with the passage of time, people are discovering and confirming these truths.

And the Messenger of Allaah, the Prophet Muhammad (Sal lal laahu alaihi wa sal lam) has delivered these truthful messages to the humanity. The entire history of Islam, the companions and enemies of the Prophet Muhammad (Sal lal laahu alaihi wa sal lam), the Muslim and non-Muslim scholars, everyone bear witness, acknowledge and confirm that the character, excellence, sincerity, honesty and virtues of the Messenger of Allaah, the Prophet Muhammad (Sal lal laahu alaihi wa sal lam), was beyond doubt perfect and formidable, noble, faultless and He is certainly the ideal model for humanity.

If people accept as true every information given by the scientists (whose lives we are ignorant of), then people have every reason to have faith in the message and teachings of the Messenger of Allaah, the Prophet Muhammad (Sal lal laahu alaihi wa sal lam), the best and finest of all men.

The Attributes of Allaah Ta’alah

If we go through each and every verse of the Holy Qur’an, we will perceive the softness, fragrance and beauty of Allaah Ta’alah oneness emanating from them.

Allaah is the Owner of all Sovereignty. He is proprietor of the whole universe. Allaah does not share His property, His power and His governorship with anyone to control the universe. He is the most powerful, filled with majesty, generosity and compassion. He is the Lord of Majesty and Generosity. Excellence, Mercy and Honor, everything is from Allaah. Allaah is everlasting. He neither has a commencement nor an ending. Creation will come to an end and time also will stop. But Allaah alone, the eternal will continue to exist.

Believe in the unseen

The first fundamental teaching of Islam is the Oneness of Allah Ta’alah. There is only one Allaah. There is an infinite and multiple varieties in the creation, but The Creator is one.

The infinite and multiple varieties in the creation are based on the uniformity of law. Meaning that, in the universe there is a law which is uniform. The investigations and discoveries that diverse scientists have made individually on different natural objects have brought them to a conclusion that the laws of nature are uniform and that there is harmony, equilibrium, stability, unity and complete perfection in the universe.

And they have also reached the conclusion that even the most distant point in the universe is under the same law. Therefore, how come these scientists have arrived to this conclusion that there is a rule and order in the law in each and every thing contained in the universe, when they have observed only a very small and minuscule portion of the universe?

Because the unseen part of the universe is far more vast that what is visible. Hence, even the scientists believe that there is a huge portion of the universe which is unseen.

And Qur’an places great importance to study and observe the visible (nature) to recognize who The Creator of this universe is. And one of the fundamentals is to believe in the unseen. Examples of some invisible and unseen things which have been mentioned in the Qur’an and Hadith are: Heaven, Hell, The Day of Resurrection, Angels, …

The signification of Rabb

One among the attributes of Allaah is Rabb. And the word ‘Rabb’ does not have an equivalent in other languages. But a close translation is to bring someone from its initial stage of existence to perfection and to make arrangement for his necessities and provisions at each stage of its existence and sustain him.

When Allaah Ta’alah creates someone, He makes provisions for his development at each stage till He brings him to perfection and completion.

We are truly touched by the splendor, harmony, balance, stability, union and uniformity that reside in humanity, in the sky, on earth and in the entire creations.

Allaah is the most powerful; He is one whom no one can conquer and have power over him. It is Allaah who creates everything from nothing and He creates each and everyone with the knowledge of what will happen to them in the future. It is Allaah who has created everything in proportion and uniformity. And Allaah is the Fashioner of Forms, He only shapes and designs everything.

Belief in detail

How many essential things a Muslim must believe?

There are seven essential things on which a Muslim should have faith:

  • i. Allaah
  • ii. His Angels
  • iii. His Books
  • iv. His Messengers
  • v. The Day of Judgment
  • vi. Destiny (Good and bad is predominated by Allaah)
  • vii. Life after death

The fragrance of Tauheed

It is Allaah alone who controls every situation and He is the doer of His wills. Men are powerless and all the creations of this world are incapable. It is solely Allaah who provides solutions for every problems and it is Him who removes obstacles. Allaah is the Manifest, He is the Hidden and He is cognizant of all things. It is Allaah who makes a person glorious, it is Him who gives dignity and it is him who gives respect. It is Allaah who demeans and humiliates. When Allah wishes, He makes someone Wali-Allaah, that is, His friend and when He wishes He disgraces and humiliates him. Allaah is the Giver of Honour and the Giver of Dishonour.

The most sensible matter in Tauheed is that a trivial error in Tauheed not only nullifies some actions but it can also convert a Muslim into a non-Muslim within a fraction of second without his awareness.

And actions like Salaat, Fast, etc are not accepted if Tauheed is not correct. And this is the reason why it is crucial to have a good knowledge of Tauheed.

1) Allaah is one, without any associates.

And your God is one God, there is no god but He; He is the most Gracious, and the Exceedingly Merciful”. (Surah Al-Baqarah 2, Verse 163)

2) None is like Him.

All the prophets had brought a message and their entire life they have shown only one main message: that there is only one Allaah and there is nothing that bear a likeness to The Creator.

Nothing is like Him” (Surah As-Shurah 42, verse 11)

3) There is no other god except Allaah.

Some people think that there are two gods while some assume that there are several gods and they say that each one of them has taken the responsibility to control one fraction of the universe. We are well aware of the problems that crop up when there are two or several leaders or chiefs in our government or society. When there are two or more chiefs in a ship, there is only gossips, disorder, upheaval, crimes and problems, etc.

“If there had been gods beside Allaah in the heavens and earth , they would both have certainly been in a state of disorder; therefore, glory is to Allaah, the Lord of the Throne; above what they attribute to Him”. (Surah Al-Anbiya 21, Verse 22)

4) He is everlasting, without a beginning and an ending.

Allaah is eternal. Allaah existed even when there was nothing; no time, space, sun, moon and universe. Allaah has created the space and time. The creation needed space and time. Space and time are the creations of Allaah, The Creator. The notion space or place or time and the six directions (up, down, front, behind, right and left) are all the creations of Allaah.

” He is the first and the Last, He is the Manifest, He is the Hidden and He is cognizant of all things”. (Surah Al-Hadid 57, verse 3)

5) He is undying.

Death implicates a change from one stage to another. It is the creations who are subjected to death and change.

“And rely on the Ever-living who dies not, and celebrate his praise, and sufficient is He as being aware of the faults of His servants”. (Surah Al-Furqan 25, verse 58)

6) Nothing happens but with His wills.

“The great doer of whatever He wills”. (Surah Al-Burooj 85, verse 16)

The movement of an electron in an atom, every heart beats, movement of the moon or the sun or the earth and every movement in the universe happens with His will. If Allaah wishes something will occur and if Allaah wishes nothing will happen.

7) He bears no resemblance to His creations.

Allaah Ta’alah in no ways resembles His creations.

Anthropomorphism (Tasbeeh and Tajseem)

Certain persons have attempted to imagine The Creator. Their imagination capability is only their limited imagination. They cannot go beyond that imagination. Therefore, they have imagined Him as a human but with extraordinary powers. Some have envisaged Allaah’s qualities and attributes in the form of human sentiments. Hence, these people take the attributes of Allaah and gives them to people whom they seek, evoke and search help.

“And none is equal to Him” (Surah Al-Iklaas 112, verse 4)

8) Allaah is He on whom all depend but He does not depend on anyone.

The Creator is perfect. And His attributes are faultless. Neither He relies on the creation nor does He need the creation. Nevertheless, the creation needs The Creator and depends on The Creator every fraction and second of their existence.

“Allaah is He on whom all depend”. (Surah Al-Iklaas 112, verse 2)

9) No one can change the decisions of Allaah.

Nobody can hinder or revoke or send back what Allaah has decided. No one has the capacity to stop what Allaah has decided or has given. Allaah is the master of his own will. He is the doer of His wills.

“He is He who gives life and causes death, so when He decrees a thing, He only says to it: Be, and it is”. (Surah Ghafir 40, verse 68)

10) Allaah has complete power over His affair.

“Allaah is Dominant over His affair, but most people do not know”. (Surah Yusuf 12 verse 21)

Allaah and all His attributes are completely matchless. And He existed eternally with His attributes. Neither His attributes amplified, diminished, developed nor do they end. They are unchanged. We cannot visualize Allaah in our mind. Allah’s existence does not resemble the existence of His creation.
